Details: Fuel oil was found on several beaches. Local residents are helping to clear the area.
Small patches of oil products and fuel oil were discovered in the water and along the shore of Orlivka, covering roughly 760 metres of the Nakhimovets beach coastline.
Fuel oil was discovered on the shore of Zorianyi Bereh beach, spanning an area of about 100 square meters.
Other beaches have traces of gasoline oil, albeit the extent has not been reported.
Quote from Razvozhayev: "Briefly. I personally oversee the operational headquarters regarding the situation, and a state of emergency of regional significance has been declared in Sevastopol."
Background: On the morning of 15 December, two tankers, Volgoneft 212 and Volgoneft 239, sank in the Kerch Strait. The vessels were split in half, causing fuel oil to leak into the water.
