Details: The reports indicate that the restrictions have been introduced "to ensure safety" at Pulkovo Airport.
Telegram channels noted that six planes, scheduled to land, are in a holding pattern near Lake Ladoga.
These include flights from the cities of Cherepovets, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Novosibirsk and Perm.
Early reports from public sources suggest that the restrictions have been implemented due to the threat of a potential drone attack.
Background: Earlier, it was reported that a drone was allegedly downed over Russia's Leningrad Oblast.
