Ukrainian air defence keeps responding: 3 Russian missiles and 13 UAVs shot down, Chernihiv attacked by Iskanders

Ukraine’s air defence continues to repel Russian attacks on 3 January: 3 missiles and 13 Russian UAVs were shot down; 19 drones failed to reach their targets.

Quote: "During the current day [from 12:00 on 3 January], the enemy launched missiles of various types: five S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles on Kursk Oblast, three Iskander-M ballistic missiles on Chernihiv Oblast, and three Kh-59/69 guided missiles on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. It also attacked with 32 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones from the north-east. As of 20:00, 3 Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 13 enemy UAVs were shot down, and 19 enemy decoy drones disappeared from radar (having done no damage)."

Details: Serhii Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, reports that three missiles were shot down over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on Friday evening.

The Air Force also warns on social media that new groups of attack UAVs on the north of Chernihiv Oblast are moving south-west.

Background: Russian troops attacked Chernihiv with ballistic missiles, and explosions rocked the outskirts of the city. Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration reported significant damage to several buildings and one person killed.
