Russians occupy three settlements south of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast – Deep State

Russian forces continue to advance in Donetsk Oblast, particularly near the settlements of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove.

Details: The analysts noted that the Russians have advanced south of Pokrovsk and occupied Dachenske, Novyi Trud and Vovkove, which are 5-6 km from the city. They have also advanced near Zelene and Novovasylivka.

Near Kurakhove, Russian forces have advanced in the area of Yantarne and Sontsivka.

Background:

• On 2 January, the Russians struck Pokrovsk with guided aerial bombs, destroying the yellow-and-blue city entrance monument bearing the town's name.
• Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group, said that Russian occupation forces are not making a frontal assault on Pokrovsk, but are attempting to bypass and encircle the city.
