Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups on Ukraine's northern border are using air and artillery support
Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups on Ukraine's northern border are receiving comprehensive support from air and artillery forces.

Quote: "Sabotage and reconnaissance groups thrive in the terrain we have on the northern border, and they [the Russians – ed.] tend to operate in challenging weather conditions. However, that's not the full picture. Today, sabotage and reconnaissance groups tactics involve air support, UAV reconnaissance, FPV drones, and artillery. This is how they are working now."
Details: The officer explained that the Russians may launch diversionary strikes nearby to cover the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups with their fire. The approach also depends on the Russians’ goals – whether they aim to test Ukraine’s defences, carry out terrorist attacks on the local civilian population at the border, or lay the groundwork for an eventual offensive.
Mysnyk highlighted that last year, the key shift was the increased use of FPV and strike drones. Notably, there has been a rise in the use of fiber-optic drones along the border.
Quote: "A few months ago, they only used Shahed-type strike drones at night, but now they deploy them both during the day and in the morning. They are now actively using these long-range weapons. As for artillery, they rely on mortars, which are easier to relocate and conceal."
