Russia plans to transfer part of its military equipment from Syria to Africa, Ukrainian intelligence says
The Russians intend to move some of the military equipment that currently remains in Syria to the African country of Libya.

Details: The Russians are reportedly waiting for their warships at the naval base in the Syrian city of Tartus to transport military equipment and weapons.
The base is home to, among others, mercenaries of the African Corps controlled by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
A Russian Ivan Gren-class landing ship and the Alexander Otrakovsky large amphibious assault ship, along with the dry cargo ship Sparta, are scheduled to arrive at the Syrian port on 5 January. They are currently en route to Tartus in the Mediterranean Sea.
Captain 1st Class Yuri Davitian, Chief of Staff of the 121st Brigade of Landing Craft of the Russian Navy, is on board the Otrakovsky.
Two other Russian vessels, the universal cargo ship Sparta II and the tanker Ivan Skobelev, will arrive at Tartus on 8 January. They are currently en route to cross the Strait of Gibraltar.
The Russians plan to use the Sparta and Sparta II cargo ships to transport military equipment and weapons from Syria to Libya.
Another Russian warship, the Admiral Golovko frigate, is planning to refuel.
Meanwhile, armoured personnel carriers, likely taken from Syria, have been unloaded at an airfield in Russia's Vladimir Oblast.
