Some Ukrainian citizens in Poland have received letters resembling military draft notices. However, Poland's Office for Foreigners has clarified that these letters are forgeries.

Details: The Office for Foreigners in Poland has released a scanned copy of a letter sent to some Ukrainian citizens in Poland allegedly on behalf of the Office, stating that it was a forgery.

The fake letter claims that, due to Ukrainian military service legislation and ongoing mobilisation, the recipient should expect a visit from the Office's representatives (in the sample, this date is indicated as "between 17-31 December"), followed by a deployment to a mobilisation point for service in Ukraine's Armed Forces. It also mentions criminal liability for evading conscription and potential extradition.

The forgery appears to have included the specific name and address of a Ukrainian citizen residing in Poland, though these details have been redacted in the published copy.

The Office for Foreigners has denied any involvement in the distribution of such letters and stated it has no information on who might have organised the fake correspondence. The number of affected cases remains undisclosed.
