Ukraine and Albania sign 10-year cooperation agreement – video

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama have signed a 10-year agreement on cooperation and support.

Details: The cooperation and support agreement between Ukraine and Albania is designed for a decade and consists of five sections: security and defence, political cooperation, humanitarian aid, cooperation in the event of future Russian aggression and final provisions.

Quote: "Albania has been providing military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and it will continue its support throughout the ten-year term of the agreement. Albania will also contribute to the fighter jet coalition."

More details:
The Ukrainian president expressed gratitude to Albania for supporting Kyiv’s path towards European integration, strengthening its battlefield capabilities and "bringing Ukraine closer to a just and lasting peace".

Background: 

  • This is not the first bilateral agreement between Kyiv and Tirana. In February 2024, the leaders of both nations signed a Friendship and Cooperation Agreement.
  • Additionally, in January 2025, Albania opened its embassy in Kyiv.
