American billionaire Elon Musk, a close ally of US President-elect Donald Trump, has criticised UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and called for new elections in the UK.

The billionaire posted a series of messages criticising Keir Starmer’s record as director of public prosecutions, calling for the release of far-right activist Tommy Robinson from prison, and claiming that only Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party could "save" Britain.

In response to a new poll showing a decline in support for Starmer’s Labour government, Musk called for a re-vote.

Earlier, Musk had publicly endorsed voting for Germany’s far-right, even writing a column in support of them for Welt am Sonntag that caused the newspaper’s editor, Eva Marie Kogel, to resign in protest.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Alice Weidel, leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany party, has revealed that plans are underway for an online meeting between Weidel and Musk.

On Tuesday, Germany's Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck criticised Musk for attempting to influence the German elections.
