Russians attack Ukraine with 72 drones, none of them reach their target

The Russian military launched an attack on Ukraine using 72 drones of the Shahed type and other drones on the night of 1-2 January. One drone continues to be in the air, 24 drones failed to reach their objectives, and 47 drones were destroyed.

Quote from Air Force: "As of 08:30, 47 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts.

Due to the active counteraction of the defence forces, 24 enemy decoy UAVs disappeared from radar (without any negative consequences). One UAV is still in the air."

Details: According to reports, the Russians launched drones from the directions of the cities of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Bryansk and Oryol.

Electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, anti-aircraft missile troops, and aviation from the Ukrainian Air Force and defence forces all contributed to repelling the air attack.
