Details: TASS reported, citing a source within the Transnistrian leadership, that Krasnoselsky had held talks in Moscow but did not specify who had taken part.
Krasnoselsky’s spokesperson, Denys Pidhorniy, confirmed that talks involving the Transnistrian leader had taken place in Moscow and that they had indeed been focused on the energy crisis, the Perviy Pridnestrovsky (First Transnistrian) Telegram channel reported.
Earlier, Moldova’s President Maia Sandu disclosed that Krasnoselsky travelled to Moscow via Chișinău Airport.
Background:
- Central heating in Transnistrian cities was shut off on 1 January 2025 after Russia stopped supplying gas to the region, leaving gas only available for cooking. From 3 January, rolling power outages were introduced in the Transnistrian region.
- Former Moldovan energy minister Victor Parlicov predicted that Gazprom would likely resume gas deliveries to Transnistria soon, having achieved the desired propaganda impact from the manufactured crisis.
