Meanwhile, residents of Voronezh, Kursk, Saratov and Lipetsk oblasts have also reported seeing drones. The authorities in the town of Anapa, the administrative centre of Anapa Urban District in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, claimed that air defence systems were responding.

As noted by BBC News Russian, Anapa and Novorossiysk are located 40 kilometres apart. Novorossiysk is Russia’s main commercial port on the Black Sea and a large part of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has relocated there.

The TurkStream gas pipeline enters the sea near Anapa.
