Kremlin would like to see Trump and Putin meet, but no specifics yet

The Kremlin is ready for conversation and a meeting with US President-elect Donald Trump, but there are no specifics yet, and a possible meeting should be considered after Trump's inauguration, a spokesman for Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin said.

We can see that Mr Trump also announces his willingness to resolve difficulties through dialogue. We welcome this. There are still no specifics, as before."

Details: Peskov said that such a meeting does not require any preconditions, but rather political will and desire.

He stated that there are no specifics at this time. The Kremlin expects the meeting between Trump and Putin to proceed following the US presidential inauguration on 20 January.

He added that Russia's negotiating positions on Ukraine are well known: "With regard to the conflict around Ukraine, our position is consistent, extremely clear, and has been repeatedly stated by the president [Putin - ed.]."

The Kremlin's spokesman also criticised the provision of further aid to Ukraine following the Ramstein meeting.
