Ukrainian police shows first moment following Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia – video

The patrol police officers were among the first to arrive at the scene of the cynical Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia on 8 January and provided assistance to the injured.

Details: The video shows patrol police officers providing first aid to the injured and assisting residents in evacuating to safe areas owing to the high risk of a repeat attack.
At the same time, traffic officials closed the road to safeguard other people.
Police personnel utilised police vehicles to carry the injured to hospitals, as every minute counted in saving lives.
Background:
- On 8 January, at 15:40, Russians launched two strikes with guided aerial bombs (FAB-500 from the UMPK, a guidance kit for converting unguided bombs into precision-guided munitions) on the territory of the oblast centre. They exploded in a crowded area, near the administrative part of an infrastructural facility and a roadway. The building and vehicles caught fire.
- The number of people killed and injured kept growing. By the morning of 10 January, the number of people injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia had risen to 123, with 13 residents killed.
