Ukraine enters new year with record budget surplus – PM Shmyhal

The Ukrainian State Treasury has processed all submitted payment orders for 2024 as of 1 January 2025. Despite this, the Treasury account holds over UAH 100 billion (approximately US$2.3 billion), while foreign currency accounts contain UAH 163 billion (approximately US$3.7 billion) – both record figures.

Details: The prime minister stated that the state budget for 2024 was executed. All priority expenditures were funded, and all social obligations were fulfilled.

The Ministry of Finance revealed that the general fund of the state budget received approximately UAH 2.2 trillion (approximately US$52.31 billion) in taxes, fees, and mandatory payments. A total of over UAH 3.1 trillion (US$73.71 billion) was received in the general and special funds.
