Ukraine's Foreign Ministry told European Pravda that it was investigating the detention of the Ukrainian citizen.
Background:
- Protests have been raging in Georgia for a week, sparked by doubts over the results of the parliamentary elections announced by the authorities and the government's decision to delay negotiations on EU membership until 2029.
- At the same time, the ruling Georgian Dream party insists that this decision does not signify a rejection of European integration, emphasising that the authorities expect Georgia to join the EU by 2030.
- Earlier, large-scale searches were conducted in the offices of opposition parties and non-governmental organisations in Tbilisi, leading to the detention of at least one opposition leader.
