Details: "We are currently not receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline," the minister tweeted, adding that the reason is unknown.

He stated that there is no risk of an oil shortage to meet the needs of households and companies.

Vlček noted that supplies via the Italian TAL pipeline are continuing steadily and emphasised that the decision to invest in this route was right.

"We'll respond to the situation in a preventive manner, so today I propose that the government approve a loan of oil from the state material reserve for Unipetrol, which will be used if supplies are not resumed," he said.

Background: On 1 December, a leak occurred near the town of Pniewy in Poland’s west from the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies oil to refineries in Germany.
