Ukraine exports over US$400 million worth of products to Lebanon, although the potential stands at US$1 billion. Supplies of cattle, meat and dairy products show promising prospects.

Details: Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food noted that Koval had met with Lebanese businessmen representing more than 12 import companies: flour millers, traders and entrepreneurs who buy food, meat and grain from Ukraine.
The minister stated that Lebanese entrepreneurs import tens of thousands of tonnes of cattle and have recently started importing sheep to Lebanon. Given the meat shortage there, these areas of livestock production could present promising opportunities for Ukrainian farmers.
"The task of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is to increase imports of our products to Lebanon. Lebanese entrepreneurs pointed out some bureaucratic issues and logistical problems. Now I clearly understand what needs to be simplified in the procedures," Koval said.
Background: In early December, the prices of dairy products in Ukraine increased due to higher costs for raw materials and production.
