Air defence in Kyiv responds to threat of Russian ballistic missile attack

Ukraine’s Air Force has said that there was a threat of a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv and several other parts of Ukraine from the northeast on the night of 30–31 December, and air defence had been activated in Kyiv.

Details: At 03:00, Ukraine’s Air Force said there was a threat of a Russian ballistic missile strike from the northeast.

An air-raid warning was issued in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Kyiv City Military Administration said air defence was operating.

At 03:39, an all-clear was given in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.
