European Bank announces tender for procurement of gas power stations for Ukraine's largest oil and gas producer
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched a tender process to procure gas power stations for Ukrnafta, Ukraine's largest oil and gas producer, under a credit and donor agreement.

Details: The open one-stage tender will accept applications until 27 January 2025. Currently, two tenders for the purchase of equipment have been announced via the EBRD electronic platform.
The first tender involves the supply of gas piston power plants and cogeneration units for three facilities with a total electrical capacity of approximately 70 MW. The tender also includes the purchase of key auxiliary equipment and related services.
The second tender is for the supply of modular power stations with gas engines in containers, with a total capacity of about 56 MW, also including auxiliary equipment and related services.
Quote: "This is the first stage of implementing distributed generation projects at Ukrnafta. After the equipment is purchased, contractors will be selected to perform construction and installation work. All gas piston power plants are planned to be manufactured, delivered, and installed by the end of 2025."
The project is financed through an EBRD loan and investment grants from the Netherlands, the US and Norway, and a special technical cooperation grant.
Background:
- The EBRD will provide €480 million to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) for purchasing electric locomotives and building a distributed power generation network.
- The EBRD and Ukrnafta have also signed an €80 million credit agreement.
