The train, which had recently undergone major repairs at the Dmitrov Engineering Plant, was scheduled to be sent by the Russians to the occupied Ukrainian territories."
Details: According to resistance forces members, the fire entirely damaged the train's main carriage, valued at RUB 50 million (approx. US$472,923).
They also stated that a sabotage operation took place at the Lobnya railway yard in Moscow Oblast, where a diesel locomotive was set on fire at 04:20 Kyiv time. The locomotive was irreparably damaged, according to the resistance forces.
Background:
- In June, Ukrainian resistance forces carried out a sabotage operation on the railway to the occupied city of Mariupol.
- In November, resistance forces sabotaged a railway line near the Russian-occupied city of Mariupol, resulting in a collision between two locomotives on a section the Russians are attempting to link to Russia.
