Passenger plane carrying 181 people crashes in South Korea – video

A passenger plane belonging to Jeju Air has crashed while landing at the international airport in the city of Muan in southwestern South Korea. The aircraft veered off the runway, collided with a fence and exploded. The death toll is reported to be 120.

Details: The crash occurred at 09:07 local time when the plane, en route from Bangkok, crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, 288 kilometres from Seoul. The aircraft was carrying 175 passengers and six crew members.

Local officials report that the plane went off the runway, collided with a fence and sustained significant damage. Rescue operations are currently underway at the scene and investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
