Details: One of the killed North Korean soldiers had a notebook in which the author, Gyong Hong Jong, congratulated another soldier, Song Ji Myong (or Yong), on his birthday.
Quote from the notebook: "I, having left my homeland and being in Russia, wish my best friend and brother-in-arms Song Ji Myong (Yong) a happy birthday and good health, 9 December 2024."
The Special Forces note that this is the first decoded entry from the trophy notebook.
While the operators of Special Operations Forces continue to kill the Russians in Kursk Oblast, the translation of other recordings of Jong is underway.
Quote: "When you want to congratulate a friend, but instead of a party, you get a machine gun and a trench on someone else's land, and the candles on the cake are replaced with Ukrainian 5.56 calibre lead."
