Quote: "Everyone is alive. The institution operates remotely, and there have been no classes in the building since the beginning of the full-scale war. We are not letting people inside because of the danger...
The buildings of the academy and its departments are scattered around the city. There are strikes of various levels over the years almost everywhere. The most critical ones are in this building."
Details: Oleksandr Shumei noted that it was not the first time that the Russians had damaged one of the symbols of Kherson. The academy was on fire as a result of the attack on 2 July 2024, and fortunately, none of the staff or students were injured.
The building was built in 1880 and reconstructed in 1950. This year, the educational institution celebrates 190 years of its history. It was even mentioned by Shevchenko in his letters 165 years ago.
It is not the first time that Russians have damaged one of Kherson's symbols.
