Russia shells Kherson, killing and injuring civilians and damaging critical infrastructure – photos, video
Russian forces launched a large-scale artillery attack on the city of Kherson on the morning of 20 December, hitting apartment blocks. As of now, two people have been confirmed dead and 10 others injured. The attack has also damaged critical infrastructure, leading to power outages in parts of the city. In addition, the city's electric transport and traffic lights are not working.

Details: Prokudin noted that the city was under a large-scale artillery attack and urged people to take cover.
A 76-year-old man was severely injured in the morning bombardment. He sustained a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to his chest.
Another man, aged 63, was taken to hospital with concussion, along with blast and closed head injuries.
Update: At 06:39, Mrochko reported that a third person had been injured and taken to hospital following the large-scale Russian attack on Kherson. The injured man, aged 44, sustained blast injuries and a traumatic amputation of fingers on his right hand.
Updated. At 08:51, Prokudin reported that, as of that moment, one person had been killed and nine others injured.
He added that the Russians had turned the city into hell. "Explosions were heard in all districts of the regional centre. The enemy targeted residential areas, social and critical infrastructure," he said.
Reports indicate that two women aged 57 and 69 and a 42-year-old man had sustained blast injuries, along with abrasions, wounds and shrapnel injuries.
The large-scale Russian attack has left up to 60,000 consumers without power in Kherson Oblast. Damage to critical infrastructure facilities has caused power outages in the Shumenskyi, Zhytloselyshche, Tavriiskyi, and Ostriv microdistricts of Kherson, as well as in the settlements of Bilozerka and Komyshany. Power engineers are working on emergency repairs to restore power as soon as possible.
Later, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported that two people – men aged 60 and 75 – had been killed in the large-scale shelling of the city of Kherson.
Civilian infrastructure facilities, including houses and apartment blocks, as well as power transmission lines have been damaged.
At 09:50, Mrochko reported that the number of those who had sustained injuries had increased to 10 people. A 73-year-old man suffered concussion, blast trauma and a closed-head injury. Medics treated him on the spot.
