FILM UA Distribution has released the official trailer for the satirical thriller Putin. The film chronicles the life of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, spanning from his childhood at age ten to sixty years of key events in his real life, culminating in his fictional death. Directed by Polish filmmaker Patryk Vega, Putin's Death will be released in Ukrainian cinemas on 16 January.

One of the film's technical achievements was the use of Deep Fake technology, which ensured the visual authenticity of the main characters. According to the director, he had insider information from a psychiatrist who once worked with the Russian ruler. As a result, Putin is portrayed in the film not only as a tyrant but also as a weak, frightened man.

"Working on this film was a real challenge. The lack of access to real materials about Putin's life forced us to seek innovative approaches. We consulted experts in military affairs, quantum mechanics, and architecture. In particular, I spoke with a NATO general who commanded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan," says Vega.

The film traces the key stages of the life of the bloody dictator, from his childhood and rise to power to his presidency and the war in Ukraine. According to the producers, the story goes beyond one individual, illustrating how the authoritarian regime in Russia was established and continues to be sustained.

In the new film, Vega continues to apply his style, combining a suspenseful story with philosophical reflections.

"History shows that empires collapse from within when citizens stop believing in their absolute ruler. I hope this film will give Ukrainian viewers hope and faith that they will soon defeat Russia," says Vega.
