Ukraine's defence minister discusses strategic reserve brigades training with EU Defence commissioner
Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov, during a meeting in Kyiv with Andrius Kubilius, EU Commissioner for Defence and Space, has discussed, among other issues, the preparation of strategic reserve brigades.

Details: Umierov said the meeting also addressed the security situation and the threats posed by the escalation of Russian aggression.
He noted that during the meeting, they began analysing the support Ukraine had received in previous years and outlined new areas of cooperation, including:
- using proceeds from frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine;
- expanding the European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM) training mission to prepare Ukrainian military personnel;
- investing in Ukraine's defence sector to strengthen domestic production.
Background: Andrius Kubilius, EU Commissioner for Defence and Space, who is visiting Kyiv, was forced to spend the morning of Friday, 13 December, in a shelter due to a Russian large-scale drone and missile attack.
