Details: CNN predicts that Donald Trump will win Michigan and, according to its election results chart, claims that Trump has already secured the support of 291 electors.
At stake are 15 electoral votes in Michigan. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the 2024 presidential election.
President Joe Biden won Michigan in 2020, after Donald Trump secured it in 2016, marking the first time a Republican had won the state since 1988.
Notably, aside from Michigan, both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania were consistently won by Democrats from 1992 to 2012, but Trump reversed this trend.
Background: Trump has declared his victory in the presidential election and pledged to fight every day for a "strong, safe and prosperous America".
