Europe must assume greater responsibility for its own security – Polish Foreign Minister
Poland's Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has announced the country's intention to play a leading role in enhancing the resilience of the European Union and that Europe must immediately assume greater responsibility for its own security.

Details: Sikorski stressed that Poland respects the decision of the American people.
He noted that the relevancy of Poland's foreign policy, which consists of maintaining political contacts with both Democrats and Republicans, has been confirmed.
Sikorski thanked both US presidential candidates – Donald Trump and Kamala Harris – for their kind words about Poland and for reaffirming the alliance between Warsaw and Washington.
Journalists reported that Sikorski had stressed that he is in constant contact with the highest security officials in the Trump team.

More details: Sikorski believes that with restored trust in the EU and good relations with the US, Poland will be a leader in increasing the EU's resilience.
"The winds of history are blowing even stronger, and Polish leadership will fulfil its mission," he concluded.
