I believe that it is wrong to draw red lines around ourselves, but not in front of the enemy and aggressor."

- Earlier, Robert Habeck, German Vice Chancellor, Minister of Economy and co-leader of the Greens, criticised Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his reluctance to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus cruise missiles and expressed regret that decisions on new weapons had been made "always too late" in the past.
- The Taurus debate has emerged again after the US authorised Ukraine to carry out strikes on Russia with long-range weapons and Germany is approaching early elections. Friedrich Merz, the leader of the largest opposition party, the CDU, who has a good chance of becoming the next chancellor, is in favour of the Taurus transfer.
- The CDU’s coalition partners are also in favour of the decision, but Chancellor Olaf Scholz insists that he will not do so. Also, more than 60% of Germans are against providing Ukraine with Taurus.
