UK defence secretary doesn't confirm Ukraine's Storm Shadow missile strikes on Russia

John Healey, UK Secretary of State for Defence, has not confirmed reports indicating that Ukraine has launched UK-made long-range missiles into Russia.

Details: Speaking in the UK House of Commons, John Healey remarked that "Ukraine's action on the battlefield speaks for itself".

He informed MPs that he had spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umierov, the previous day. Their discussion focused on Ukraine's "robust response" to Russia's recent escalation and the UK's plans to support Ukraine through 2025.

"At this point I’m not able to get into any further operational details," Healey said.

• Bloomberg, citing an unnamed Western official, reported that Ukrainian forces had used UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles against military targets in Russia for the first time.
