Quote from Syrskyi: "One thousand days of an extremely difficult, fierce battle for our existence. For the future of Ukraine and each of us. For 1,000 days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been confronting the enemy on the front line, which stretches over 1,000 kilometres.

In the frozen trenches of Donetsk Oblast and in the burning steppes of Kherson Oblast under shells, Grads [MLRS – ed.], and guided aerial bombs, we are fighting for the right to life. Ours and our children's."

Syrskyi added that "every dark night, even if there are a thousand of them, always ends in a dawn", and one day it will be the dawn of victory.

Quote from Budanov: "Almost three years ago, Moscow's generals were seriously planning to ‘take Kyiv in three days’ and parade down Khreshchatyk [main street in Kyiv – ed.]. We, Ukrainians, military and civilians, did not allow them to do so because we value the freedom, dignity and independence of the country above all else - more than our own lives...

Our eternal enemy has not abandoned its goal of destroying Ukraine as a state and Ukrainians as a people. Therefore, we must continue to be strong and persistent in achieving our goal of defeating the occupiers, liberating Ukrainian land, and building the state of our dreams – a powerful, independent and just Ukraine.

A thousand days is a long time. No one knows how many more days and nights this war will last. But we are ready, and we will fight for Ukraine as long as it takes. We are warriors of truth, fighting on our own land, defending our people and our country."

Budanov reiterated that Ukrainian intelligence officers warned the public about the danger, that this was their job and DIU was ready to resist the Russians from the first minutes of the full-scale invasion.

Budanov said that Ukrainian drones reach targets 1,500 kilometres away in the Russian rear, naval drones clear the Black Sea of the Russian navy, and the military have mastered the latest equipment and tactics of warfare and have become the best specialists in modern warfare.

Quote from Klymenko: "The enemy is trying to break us as individuals and as a nation. And for 1,000 days, we have been proving that the enemy's plans are in vain. Despite the pain and grief brought by Russia, Ukraine is getting stronger."

Klymenko said that the ministry has expanded its functions during the invasion: "From the first day, brigades of the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the National Police have been on the front line. Our emergency workers are on the front line and in the rear every day, saving people."

He said that Ukraine and Ukrainians have come a long way: "And we have to keep going - to a peaceful and secure country. I am sure we can do it."

The Foreign Ministry stressed that Ukrainians, as a nation, have experienced many difficult days: "But what is more important than the number of days that have passed is the number of days that remain until our victory: the victory of truth, light, justice and peace."
