The US Department of State has revised its travel advisory for Americans regarding Ukraine, lowering the risk level for nine out of 24 Ukrainian oblasts.

Details: The US Department of State noted that some oblasts may have a lower risk level due to air defence capabilities and distance from active combat zones.

The risk level was reduced from Level 4 (Do Not Travel) to Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) for Volyn, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr oblasts.

However, the US Department of State advises that all US citizens closely monitor updates from the US government, as well as local and international media, to stay informed about changes in security conditions and warnings to find a shelter. The security situation in Ukraine remains unpredictable.

Quote: "Russia’s unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine continues and even non-frontline regions remain subject to Russian missile and drone attacks.

Travellers should react to air alerts and seek appropriate shelter."
