Until the end of his presidential term, Joe Biden will advocate for the necessity of supporting Ukraine, amid the arrival of the Donald Trump administration in the US.

Source: Jake Sullivan, the President’s National Security Advisor, in an interview with CBS News, reported by European Pravda

Details: Sullivan stated that the current US administration’s approach in its final days "remains the same as it's been for the last two and a half years, which is to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position on the battlefield, so that it is ultimately in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table".

Biden's advisor confirmed that the administration, up to the end of its term, intends to use all resources allocated by Congress for military support to Ukraine.

Quote: "And of course, President Biden will have the opportunity over the next 70 days to make the case to the Congress and to the incoming administration that the United States should not walk away from Ukraine, that walking away from Ukraine means more instability in Europe."

Sullivan declined to specify whether a particular legislative proposal on funding is under discussion.

"President Biden will make the case that we do need ongoing resources for Ukraine beyond the end of his term, because the threat to Ukraine will remain no matter what exactly happens on the battlefield or at the negotiating table," Biden’s National Security Advisor noted.

Background: Earlier, media outlets reported that the US plans to send hundreds of interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS air defence systems to Ukraine, expectedly enough to last until the end of the year.
