Ukraine might not face scheduled power outages in winter: Ukrainian energy company DTEK outlines conditions
Ukrainians might make it through the winter without scheduled power outages if energy infrastructure facilities are protected from attacks

Details: When asked about the return of power outage schedules, Sakharuk noted that energy companies might not need to resume them if the situation remains as it is now.
Quote: "I can't give a definite timeline. If the situation continues as it is now, we may not return to scheduled outages."
This outlook extends to winter as well. Sakharuk believes Ukrainians could potentially face the cold months with a steady power supply if key energy facilities are shielded from attacks.
Quote: "We could make it through winter this way if we’re able to effectively protect critical sites, like our power generation and transmission facilities, with air defence. This is a crucial factor in getting through the winter without outages."
Background: Scheduled hourly power cuts might be implemented as soon as next week due to a noticeable temperature drop. Tsentrenergo, Ukrainian largest company in the electricity sector, emphasises that the decision to impose emergency outage schedules rests solely with Ukrenergo. So far, Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s state-owned electricity transmission operator, does not see grounds for limiting consumption for the public.
