Russia launched over 2,000 attack UAVs at Ukraine over October

Russian forces used 2,023 Shahed attack UAVs and unidentified drones against civilian and military targets in Ukraine in October 2024.

Details: Of these Russian air targets, 1,185 were destroyed/suppressed by Ukrainian defenders, 738 disappeared from radar, and another 29 UAVs left the airspace of Ukraine.

The General Staff reported that in total, since the beginning of 2024, the Russians have launched 6,987 attack UAVs at the territory of Ukraine.

Mostly, Russian drones targeted Ukraine's civilian and critical infrastructure facilities.

Quote: "Thanks to the professionalism and skill of the servicemen of the Ukrainian defence forces, thousands of lives of our people were saved from Russian air terror, hundreds of homes of Ukrainian citizens and important state facilities were saved from destruction. 

The anti-aircraft missile troops, aircraft, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups continue to defend the Ukrainian sky around the clock."

Background: On the night of 31 October-1 November, Russia launched 48 attack UAVs and drones of unspecified type at Ukraine and fired three Kh-59/69 missiles; 31 Russian drones and a missile were destroyed by the defence forces.
