Details: Currently, 18 hromadas in Donetsk Oblast are included in the active combat zone, where the Ukrainian army and the Russian forces continue to be engaged in combat clashes. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

These are the following hromadas: Bakhmut, Soledar, Siversk, Chasiv Yar, Zvanivka, Toretsk, Illinivka, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Hrodivka, Kurakhove, Marinka, Myrnohrad, Novohrodivka, Ocheretyne, Selydove, Vuhledar and Novoselivka.

Quote from Dmytro Petlin: "There are hromadas that are fully included in the combat zone, and there are hromadas in which some settlements are included."

Dmytro Petlin also recalled that evacuation from the oblast has not stopped since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Quote from Kateryna Pavlichenko, Deputy Interior Minister: "It should be emphasised that the priority is the safety of children, not the punishment of parents. However, sometimes administrative reports are drawn up against parents for failing to fulfil their parenting responsibilities."

Background:

  • Police officers can bring parents who refuse to take their children out of the frontline areas to administrative responsibility.
  • Deputy Interior Minister Kateryna Pavlichenko said adults commit a criminal offence if they leave a child in danger.
