Ukraine's General Staff: 79 combat engagements have occurred since start of day, difficult situation on Kurakhivka front
Ukraine's Defence Forces are holding back active attacks from the Russian troops, with the fiercest battles occurring on the Kurakhivka, Kupiansk and Pokrovsk fronts.

Details: The Russians continue missile, air, and artillery strikes on Ukrainian towns and villages.
In Sumy Oblast, the Russian forces launched 13 airstrikes, using 23 guided aerial bombs, and attacked the settlements of Stepne, Obody and Bilokopytove.
In Russia’s Kursk Oblast, Russian forces carried out 10 airstrikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs.
Fierce fighting is taking place on the Pokrovsk front near the settlements of Mykolaivka, Selidove and Lysivka. Russian forces have launched seven assaults on Ukrainian positions. Russian aviation struck Pokrovsk and Selidove with guided aerial bombs.
A challenging situation is developing on the Kupiansk front, where Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times near Synkivka and Lozova. Hlushkivka was hit by an airstrike.
The hottest fighting is taking place on the Kurakhivka front, where the Russians tried to advance 16 times since the start of the day but were met with strong resistance from Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Attacks have also intensified on the Lyman front, with the settlements of Iziumske, Zarichne, Ozerne and Lyman being hit with 20 guided aerial bombs. Eight clashes have been recorded in this area.
On the Kramatorsk and Toretsk fronts, the Russian forces tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions 14 times. The Russians also attacked Chasiv Yar with unguided rockets and dropped guided aerial bomb on Yurkivka.
On the Kharkiv front, three clashes took place near Starytsia and Vovchansk, where the Russians also used aerial bombs.
Fighting also continues on the Orikhiv front, where Russian forces attempted to break through in the areas of Robotyne and Kamianske, but the Ukrainian troops provided a strong defence.
