Details: Zelenskyy is reported to have arrived in Iceland on 28 October on his first working visit to the country, during which he will, among other things, attend the fourth Ukraine-Nordic Summit.
The Ukrainian president expressed his gratitude to Iceland and the Nordic partner countries for supporting Ukraine from the early days of the full-scale war.
"I am grateful to Iceland for supporting our country on the path to NATO. Inviting Ukraine to join the Alliance is the first point of the Victory Plan and a reliable way to achieve a just peace," he stressed.
Zelenskyy underscored the importance of a united and decisive response to the involvement of North Korean troops in Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as to Russia's use of weapons provided by North Korea and Iran.
"Today, we must be stronger to stop Putin," he added.
Notably, the summit of the Nordic leaders will be attended by almost 90 people: prime ministers, foreign ministers, members of parliament, and invited guests.
Background: In late September, Ukraine invited the Nordic countries to join the Northern Brigade project. The initiative suggests that each Nordic country train and equip a battalion for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
