Russian nighttime attack with 100 drones: 66 shot down, 24 disappear from radar and 4 fly back to Russia

Russia bombarded Ukraine with 100 attack drones on the night of 27-28 October. Ukrainian air defence destroyed 66 attack drones, another 24 disappeared from radar, and four drones returned to Russia and Belarus.

Quote: "On the night of 27-28 October 2024, starting from 19:00 on 27 October, the enemy used 100 Shahed attack UAVs and unidentified drones that were launched from the directions of the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk."

Details: As of 10:30, 66 Russian UAVs were confirmed to have been shot down in Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy oblasts. Most of the drones were shot down in Kyiv, Cherkasy and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.

In addition, 24 Russian drones disappeared from radar and 4 flew towards Russia and Belarus.

Several UAVs reportedly hit civilian infrastructure facilities.

The Russian air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aircraft, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups from the defence forces.
