Shmyhal added that the funds will be directed towards covering non-military budget expenditures.

He recalled that Ukraine had received this tranche due to the successful fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme, which amounts to US$15.6 billion.

Shmyhal said the government is already beginning joint work with the IMF on the next round of the funding programme review.

The Finance Ministry reported that Ukraine has received over $11.3 billion from the IMF since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Background: The IMF Board has completed the fifth review of the EFF programme for Ukraine, which has allowed for the allocation of approximately US$1.1 billion for Ukraine to support its budget.
