New French Foreign Minister Barrot arrives in Ukraine on first visit
Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, has arrived in Kyiv for the first time.

Details: Unlike most visits by foreign guests, Barrot announced his arrival in advance on Friday and repeated the announcement early on Saturday.

More details: On the morning of 19 October, it became known that the minister had already met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, and they held a joint press conference.
Sybiha expressed his gratitude to Barrot for his decision to make a visit to Ukraine one of his first foreign missions and thanked him for all the assistance and support provided by France in a number of areas.
Among other things, Sybiha told Barrot about the challenges Ukraine's energy sector faces on the eve of winter, and the ministers agreed to cooperate on this issue.
Background: Prior to that, Barrot and Sybiha met for the first time in Paris during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's European tour with his Victory Plan.
