Ukraine's air defence responds in Kyiv Oblast

Russian drones have been detected in Kyiv Oblast and air defence systems have been responding to the airborne targets.

Details: Authorities urged residents to take care of their own safety and stay in shelters until the all-clear is given.
People are also asked not to record or post combat efforts online.
Updated: At 07:18, Kyiv Oblast Military Administration reported for the second time on the work of air defence in the oblast.
Background:
- Russian forces launched attack drones over Ukraine on the evening of 18 October.
- As of 02:45, an air-raid warning was issued in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Poltava oblasts.
- At 03:00, Kyiv Oblast Military Administration reported that the Russian drones had been detected in the oblast and air defence systems were responding to the airborne targets.
- After 04:00, Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defence systems were responding to the attack in the city of Kyiv.
- Later, it was reported that a woman had been injured in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv during the Russian attack. She was hospitalised and is undergoing surgery after a small piece of drone wreckage hit her apartment through the balcony window.
- Kyiv City Military Administration wrote that Ukraine’s defence forces had destroyed all Russian drones that attacked Kyiv on the night of 18-19 October.
