Vezha platform for simultaneous analysis of UAV video integrated into DELTA system

Ukrainska Pravda — Monday, 14 October 2024, 11:26

Vezha, a video analysis platform that provides real-time access to drone video feeds, has been integrated into the DELTA combat system, which increases the accuracy and efficiency of Ukrainian military operations through better interaction and data exchange between drone crews, artillery and command posts.

Details: The Ministry of Defence explained that Vezha provides the Ukrainian military with a technological advantage and eliminates dependence on other platforms, unlike the Russians, who still use third-party video platforms that are often blocked by their developers or the Russian authorities.

Quote: "Due to Vezha, the military analyses video from hundreds of UAVs and detects and classifies more than 4,000 intelligence targets every day. Voice communication, joint video decryption and monitoring of drone units' effectiveness allow our fighters to act quickly and inflict significant losses on the enemy."

Details: The Ministry of Defence noted that Vezha has complemented the ecosystem of DELTA combat system products. Authentication through the combat system guarantees secure data exchange and protection against unauthorised access to broadcasts.

Vezha's integration into the DELTA system was made possible through the cooperation of several Ukrainian teams, including the 411th Yastruby Separate Battalion, the Ministry of Defence's Innovation Centre, and the teams of the Tube and Raven streaming platforms.

The combined team is currently expanding its streaming capabilities to support thousands of simultaneous broadcasts from various types of drones and cameras. The Avengers platform's artificial intelligence is also being improved to automatically detect the Russians in difficult conditions, such as camouflage or dense forests.

For reference: DELTA is a unique ecosystem of military products built to NATO standards. It allows you to see the battlefield in real time and displays the air, ground, and sea situation on a digital map.

The system also includes a messenger and streaming that allow secure communication in a loop and real-time broadcasting from UAVs. It allows for information exchange within a unit or brigade and, if necessary, with allies.

Background:

  • General Philippe Lavigne, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, and Vice Admiral Jeff Hughes, Deputy Chief of Staff for NATO Capability Development, have both lauded Ukraine's DELTA combat system.
  • NATO representatives noted the significant work done to ensure interoperability between Ukrainian and NATO systems and the innovative approach to the development of the combat system.
  • DELTA, along with the Kropyva command and control system and the Virazh Planshet software, is among the three combat systems most used by the Ukrainian military, according to a survey in the Army+ app.
