Details: The new Swedish aid package contains camouflage equipment for combat vehicles previously delivered to Ukraine – PBV 302 armoured tracked personnel carriers – and Robot System 70 portable anti-aircraft systems.

The package also contains a range of armour-piercing and small-calibre projectiles, recoilless rifles and anti-tank mines, grenade launchers with ammunition, protective equipment, helmets and winter uniform.

In addition to this, Sweden is supplying Ukraine with naval equipment worth SEK 500 million (US$48 million), specifically six Combat Boat 90 vessels and equipment for them. The Swedish government also plans to allocate additional funds to supply drones to Ukraine.

Stockholm has also provided for the procurement of spare parts worth SEK 2.3 billion (US$166 million) for their JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets, to be ready in case these aircraft are sent to Ukraine in the future.

The package also includes SEK 700 million (US$507,000) in financial donations to funds and other multilateral initiatives supporting Ukraine, from the ammunition initiative to the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine.

"With support package 17, Sweden enters a new phase of military support to Ukraine, with a greater focus on production instead of donation," the Swedish government stresses.

Sweden has supplied Ukraine with military aid worth SEK 48.1 billion (US$3.5 billion) since February 2022, including SEK 25 billion in 2024 alone.

It was announced in May that Sweden plans to allocate SEK 75 million (US$5.4 million) in military aid for Ukraine over 2024-2026.
