Quote: "The vast majority of Ukrainians (71%) recognize that the spread of Russian disinformation and propaganda in social networks is quite or even a very serious threat. At the same time, 33% of them consider this threat to be one of the biggest, while the remaining 38% say that this threat, although serious, is not one of the biggest.

[The share of those who] claim that it is not a significant threat or there is no threat at all is 23% (although 18% of them admit that there is some harm [from Russian propaganda being spread via social networks])."

Furthermore, more than half of respondents say that in Ukraine, Telegram's operation should be limited or controlled.

The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted the study on 1-6 September 2024, using the telephone interview method with a random sample of mobile phone numbers. 1015 respondents aged 18 and up were interviewed across all government-controlled regions of Ukraine.

The sample did not include residents of territories temporarily not controlled by Ukrainian authority (although some of the respondents are internally displaced people who relocated from occupied territories), nor was the survey performed with individuals who fled the country after 24 February 2022.

Formally, under normal conditions, the statistical error of such a sample would not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indications close to 25%, 2.5% for indicators close to 10%, and 1.8% for indicators close to 5%.
