NATO has no evidence that Russian drone crashed in Latvia intentionally
The North Atlantic Alliance has had no information suggesting that the crash of a Russian drone in Latvia was intentional.

Details: Dakhlallah noted that fragments of Russian drones and missiles have been repeatedly found on the territory of NATO allies since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
"While we have no information indicating a deliberate Russian attack on allies, these actions are irresponsible and potentially dangerous," Dakhllallah stated.
She reiterated that NATO has significantly increased its presence on the eastern flank, particularly in Romania and Latvia, in response to Russia's war.
Background:
- A Russian military drone crashed in the east of Latvia on Saturday 7 September, likely entering through Belarus.
- As far as it is known, this is the first time a Russian military drone has violated Latvian airspace since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
- Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has criticised NATO allies for their inaction, which has led to the unhindered fall of Russian drones on the territory of Alliance members.
