Ukraine's Defence Procurement Agency buys first ammunition using funds raised via UNITED24

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s Agency of Defence Procurement has signed the first contract on ammunition procurement using funds raised via the UNITED24 platform.

Details: The contracts provide for supplies worth UAH 47 million (US$1.13 million).

"This is an important step in strengthening the defence capability of our army through new funding sources," Deputy Defence Minister Dmytro Klimenkov said.
Background:
- In May 2024, the Ukrainian government permitted Ministry of Defence procurement agencies to transfer funds from a special account in support of the Armed Forces that was opened to raise voluntary contributions through UNITED24.
- Upon coordination with Ukraine’s Defence Ministry, the funds can be transferred to agencies for defence procurement.
- UNITED24 is the main fundraising platform collecting donations in support of Ukraine. In the 28 months of the platform’s operation, over US$678 million in donations has been raised from more than 110 countries.
