Relatives visit survivors of Russian attack on Poltava
Some of the people who were injured in a missile strike on Poltava on 3 September are being treated in the regional hospital. Medical professionals have managed to identify some of the survivors, and they are being visited by their families.

Details: Relatives of those who were injured in the attack started to visit the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovskyy.
Among them is 69-year-old Halyna Butko from Poltava Oblast, who came to the regional centre to see her 48-year-old son Volodymyr Butko. Following the missile attack, the man has yet to recover.
Halyna Butko stated that her son had surgery, which partially improved his health. However, medical personnel planned two additional interventions in the future.
Quote: "Yesterday I received a call from the hospital saying that my son is in a critical condition [...] His abdominal cavity [was wounded - ed.], and he can’t feel his legs now. He has five children: three sons and two daughters," Volodymyr’s mother explained.
Oleksandra Holub arrived at the Poltava hospital from Sumy. Her spouse was at the Institute of Communications at the time of the attack. He had been mobilised for military service two months earlier.
Oleksandra claims that by 09:00, her badly injured husband was able to call her and tell her about the consequences of the attack.
"I was studying at the training centre. At 09:10, he calls me: ‘Missile’. He was already badly injured, and the only thing he could do was call me and talk to me. He said that a lot of people were killed," the woman recalls.
According to Oleksandra, her spouse suffered major injuries, particularly to his legs.
Another survivor, Oleksandr, was visited at the Poltava Regional Hospital by his parents. On 3 September, their son arrived at the educational institution to begin lessons.

"He was at the Institute studying. We came from Hlobyne and are now waiting here," the father of the wounded Viktor Tokar told reporters.
On 3 September, Russia launched two ballistic missiles towards Poltava. The time interval between the air-raid warning being issued and the strike of the missiles was insufficient for the citizens to move to shelters.
As of 4 September, emergency workers are continuing to clear the rubble after the Russian attack, where 13 people may be still trapped. The latest information indicates that 53 people were killed and 289 were injured.
Following the incident, Poltava Oblast declared three days of mourning for the people killed in the Russian strike.
