Situation on Kurakhove extremely tense, heavy fighting continues – Ukraine's General Staff

There were 107 combat clashes on the line of contact since the beginning of the day, 32 of them on the Kurakhove front in Donetsk region.

Quote: "The situation is currently the most intense on the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk fronts. The defence forces are taking all necessary measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory."

Details: The General Staff reports that the situation on the Kurakhove front remains difficult. Russian troops have launched 32 attacks on Ukrainian positions since the beginning of the day, trying to break through the defences near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka.

In addition, the Russians are actively using aviation and artillery to shell the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts. Five air strikes involving 11 guided aerial bombs were recorded against the settlements of Sumy, Tokari, Nova Sloboda, Yampil and Yunakivka. The settlements that came under artillery fire: Sydorivka, Novovasylivka, Slavhorod, Popivka and others.

Active hostilities also continue on other fronts. In particular, the Russians made 31 assaults on the Pokrovsk front, 14 combat clashes were recorded on the Kupiansk front, and 11 more on the Lyman front.

The General Staff reports that despite numerous attempts by Russia to break through the defences, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions, inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces.
